The Patriots played their last game of the season on August 13th, 2016 as they looked to bounce back after a very heartbreaking 9-10 loss to the Roseland Cubs. Though they came in ready to play and hungry, they played without a couple of key players; such as Brandon Dupart, and they fell a little short after a hard fought game in a 6 to 10 loss for the guys. Edward struggled on the mound in the one full inning that he pitched facing a total of 15 batters, giving up a whopping 10 runs, (nine of them earned) on 6 hits and walking 4 of the batters he faced. Although he had trouble pitching, Edward did his thing in the batter’s box, going 2 for 3 and driving in 2 of the Patriot’s 6 runs.
Lavonte Stewart Jr. also had a solid game at the plate, even though not having an official at-bat he showed great patience drawing 3 walks, and adding 3 runs. Angelo Walker finished the game pitching for the Patriots on a promising note pitching in 2 innings only allowing one batter to get on base, and striking out four. The Roberto Clemente Hurricanes might have been a little too much for the young, upstart Patriots. Although they went 3-6 in their last 9 games, after having a very good start, the Patriots still had a successful season going 12-10 with two ties. They are a bright young group of kids who will be expecting to be at the top of the league by this time next season. The sky’s the limit for this ball club.
