Rosemoor Patriots Team Stats:

After a hard-fought season, the Rosemoor Patriots finished 11-6 with two ties. With 72 hits in 340 at-bats, the team batting average bottomed-out at 0.212. In those 19 games they hit four home runs, seven triples, five  doubles, and the majority of their hits were singles at 56. They struck-out an alarming 121 times (35 percent) and walked 117 times (34 percent) in 340 at-bats. They did well stealing bases, averaging a whopping 7.4 per game.

Individual Stats:

Overall, the most consistent hitter on the team was the ecstatic Carmelo Rollins, who hit 0.579 with 13 stolen bases in only 11 games. Next was Brandon Dupar, whose solid 0.333 and a team high of 14 runs on ten hits earned him the title of “best player in the club” by his teammates. Angelo Walker was next with a 0.314 and a team high of 13 RBI and 17 strikeouts. Walker was also the most solid pitcher in the club, finishing with a 2.65 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 43 innings. Demarcus Smith pitched 27 innings for a 4.22 ERA.

Playoff Game Summary:

July 30: The Rosemoor Patriots’ played Dolton/Riverdale for their first playoff game, who almost had nohits in an impressive 4-1 win. Angelo and Edward combined for 16 strikeouts, six walks and managed to give up only one run on a hit. Offensively the Patriots scored four runs and only had three hits, Lavonte Stewart Jr. hit two of them.

July 31: In their second playoff game, the Patriots played the Roosemoor White Sox. The guys struggled this game, striking out 11 times in 23 at-bats. Lead-off hitter Carmen Rollins went zero for three, and the team struggled without him, only gutting out one run on five hits. Angelo Walker had a decent outing, only giving up three hits in three innings and two runs. But the offense was shut down and the Patriots were left disappointed in a 9-10 loss.

August  1: After only mustering up five runs in the past two games, the Patriots finally put it all together, and dominated the Phoenix Eagles in a convincing 13-3 with 13 runs on 13 hits. The Patriots accomplished an astonishing feat as the first four hitters hit two hits each and went a combined eight for nine to score five of their 13 runs. Pitcher Derek Smith threw eight strikeouts and gave up three runs: two earned on hits.

August 2: This game was a roller coaster ride for the club. this game was very emotional and full of grit and grind. The Roseland Cubs put up a late comeback fight against the Patriots. The Patriots gave up a three run lead in the sixth inning when the Cubs edged in with a heartbreaking 10-9 win. Brandon Dupar went four for four with four RBI an impressive game for the young star.
