Meet LaVont’e Stewart Sr. – A Chicagoan You Should Know Turning a negative into a positive has become his specialty and is the reason the organization he runs is even in existence. When a little league group he was involved with disbanded, LaVont’e Stewart Sr. wanted a way to continue to help the youth of the South Shore community. So he started “Lost Boyz Inc.” in 2008 – an organization to provide mentorship to kids through organized baseball and fast pitch softball. Sixteen years later, Lost Boyz. Inc. is going strong. The organization has branched out into Chicago communities, helping children continue to grow in a number of aspects in their lives. “We’ve built something really different – and I think folks need to see,” said Stewart of the organization. Send Lost Boyz in the Negro League Baseball Museum in Kansas City

Lost Boyz will be bringing a group of at least 100 players, coaches and parents, current estimations place the cost of travel, lodging, admissions fees (tournaments/museum) between 30-40K in total. The organization is seeking to fundraise the need resources across the next 3-4 months. On average this cost is $300-400 per person which is quite costly for the families served by Lost Boyz, especially those with multiple children in the program.
